How much time it takes to heal the ear after ear drum perforation surgery?
After ear surgery, generally there is a bandage over the ear which is taken off after 6-7 days of surgery. Stitches are removed as they are healed by this time. The take up of the graft which is used to repair the perforation of the ear drum is generally complete by 4-6 weeks. One has to understand that this healing is proper and successful if no infection occurs during the post-operative recovery period and also patient does not suffer from acute infection like cold and cough during this period.
