Tests for Nasal Allergy

What are tests for nasal allergy?

We should know that allergy may cause nasal itching, sneezing, running nose, nasal stuffiness, watering of eyes and sometimes dry cough.

There are various tests which can be used to evaluate for allergy like blood test, skin tests and provocative tests. The blood test can be used to quantify the level of serum IgE and there are blood allergy panel tests to know which allergens are responsible for the symptoms. Skin tests are of different types like skin prick allergy test (SPAT), intradermal tests or patch tests. Most sensitive is the skin prick allergy test. Provocative tests are mainly used if the person is having symptoms but there is no proper skin reaction to allergen.
